Sri Ganganagar: Under the leadership and guidance of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhajanlal Sharma, Rajasthan is making rapid progress in Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, and other emerging sectors. Over the past two years, the state government has introduced four new policies aimed at creating a robust ecosystem for AI, Big Data Analytics, Blockchain, Cloud Computing, Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming, and Extended Reality.
As part of its efforts to strengthen digital and data infrastructure, the state government is set to organize the *Rajasthan DigiFest TiE Global Summit 2026* from January 4 to 6. This initiative aligns with the Digital India mission of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and aims to establish Rajasthan as a leading IT and IT-enabled services (IT-ITES) hub.
Key Policies to Drive Growth and Employment
The introduction of the *Rajasthan Global Capability Center Policy 2025*, *Rajasthan AVGC-XR Policy 2024*, *Rajasthan Data Center Policy 2025*, and *Rajasthan AI-ML Policy 2026* is expected to generate significant employment opportunities for local talent while accelerating the state’s economic growth.
World-Class Data Center Ecosystem to Be Developed
The Bhamashah Data Center in Jaipur is an 800-rack, state-of-the-art Tier-4 facility and the largest government-owned data center in the country. Considering the growing importance of data usage and storage, the state government is now encouraging the establishment of private data centers in Rajasthan.
The *Rajasthan Data Center Policy 2025* aims to develop a world-class data center ecosystem and position Rajasthan as a major hub in the data center sector. The policy focuses on enhancing efficiency, security, and reliability while ensuring high standards of data management, performance, and safety.
Key incentives under the policy include asset creation incentives of ₹10–20 crore annually for up to 10 years, an additional 25 percent Sunrise Incentive for the first three data centers investing over ₹100 crore, a 5 percent interest subsidy for five years, 100 percent exemption on banking, transmission, and wheeling charges, flexible land payment options, exemptions on stamp duty, land conversion, and electricity charges, and up to ₹10 crore exemption in external development charges.
Jaipur Poised to Become a Global Capability Center Hub
Due to its proximity to the National Capital Region, strong connectivity, availability of high-quality commercial spaces, skilled IT professionals, lower setup costs, and a business-friendly environment, Jaipur has emerged as an ideal destination for multinational companies seeking to establish Global Capability Centers (GCCs).
To promote GCCs, the state government has launched the *Rajasthan Global Capability Center Policy 2025*, which aims to establish over 200 GCCs by 2030, create 150,000 jobs, and contribute significantly to India’s $100 billion GCC market. Cities such as Jaipur, Udaipur, and Jodhpur will be developed as GCC hubs, with simplified application procedures to attract greater investment.
Grants for Animation Films, Games, and Comics
To encourage local talent and resources in animation, visual effects, gaming, comics, and extended reality, the state government has introduced the *Rajasthan AVGC-XR Policy 2024*. The policy provides production grants for animation films, games, and comics developed in the state. Startups and enterprises focusing on local culture and content creation will receive additional incentives.
To foster innovation, Atal Innovation Studios and accelerators will be established, equipped with coding facilities, VFX labs, and advanced computing infrastructure. These initiatives will nurture young talent and create new employment opportunities.
AI-ML Policy to Strengthen E-Governance
The *Rajasthan AI-ML Policy 2026* will help position the state as an emerging hub for investment and innovation. Recognizing the importance of IT in service delivery, the policy aims to expand e-governance through responsible, ethical, and secure use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
The policy focuses on reducing bias in AI systems, ensuring data security, and maintaining transparency in decision-making processes. It also outlines clear mechanisms for reporting and addressing AI-related cyber crimes. The establishment of an Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence in the state is another key component of the policy.
Rajasthan Writing a New Chapter in Technological Progress
It is noteworthy that due to the state government’s initiatives in the IT sector, digital governance reforms, and commitment to fostering innovation, Rajasthan is scripting a new chapter in technological advancement. Through *iStart Rajasthan*, over 7,200 startups have been registered so far, attracting investments exceeding ₹1,000 crore and generating more than 42,500 employment opportunities.
