Village and Ward Master Plans to Be Prepared Incorporating Public Suggestions

Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma stated that, in line with the vision of Developed Rajasthan 2047, master plans will be prepared for every village and ward across the state. These plans will incorporate future requirements as well as suggestions from women, youth, farmers, the poor, and people from all age groups so that they truly reflect public aspirations.

The Chief Minister was chairing a meeting at the Chief Minister’s Office on Tuesday regarding the proposed campaign announced in the budget for preparing master plans for Gram Panchayats and urban wards. He directed that these master plans be categorized into short-term, medium-term, and long-term plans to ensure that the needs of the increasing population are effectively addressed.

He emphasized that the objective of these master plans is to ensure well-planned development in rural areas, which will help reduce migration from villages and prevent excessive pressure on cities. He also instructed officials to adopt an evidence-based approach while preparing the plans, focusing on essential facilities such as education, healthcare, electricity, water supply, roads, and sanitation.

Development Along With Preservation of Heritage

The Chief Minister further said that the master plans should be designed around the principle of development along with preservation of heritage. Plans should take into account the traditions, crafts, and religious-historical significance of rural areas. Such initiatives will not only generate employment opportunities in villages but will also help preserve and promote their social and cultural environment.

Officials informed during the meeting that the proposed campaign will involve approval of the master plans through Gram Sabhas. After this, concerned departments will be able to formulate effective policies, schemes, and programs based on the approved plans.

The master plans will also focus on identifying major sources of employment, measures to increase agricultural production, and opportunities for self-employment. In addition, eligible individuals will be identified and ensured inclusion in various government welfare schemes.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary V. Srinivas along with senior officials from the concerned departments.
