Assembly Speaker Shri Vasudev Devnani Inaugurates Heart and Lung Transplant OPD at Priyanka Hospital and Cardiac Center in Mansarovar, Jaipur

Jaipur: Shri Vasudev Devnani, Speaker of the Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, stated that healthcare is not merely a means of treatment, but a sensitive responsibility dedicated to the preservation and enrichment of human life.

Assembly Speaker Shri Devnani was addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Heart and Lung Transplant OPD at Priyanka Hospital and Cardiac Center in Mansarovar, Jaipur, on Sunday, in his capacity as the Chief Guest.

Shri Devnani remarked that the establishment of a state-of-the-art Heart Failure Clinic in Jaipur marks a significant achievement in the state's healthcare sector, enabling patients suffering from severe cardiac ailments to access specialized services locally. Describing this initiative as the "opening of a new direction" in the medical field, he noted that it would eliminate the need for patients from Rajasthan to rely on major metropolitan cities for advanced medical care.

Citing Indian traditions, Assembly Speaker Shri Devnani observed that in our Vedas and Upanishads, the heart is regarded not merely as a physical organ, but as the very center of consciousness; indeed, it is stated that "the heart is the abode of consciousness, the senses, and the mind."

Assembly Speaker Shri Devnani further stated that excessive anxiety, fear, anger, an uncontrolled diet, and an irregular lifestyle weaken the heart, and these factors are, in fact, the primary causes behind the rising incidence of heart diseases today.

Emphasizing the importance of incorporating the daily routines (*Dinacharya*) and seasonal regimens (*Ritucharya*) prescribed in Ayurveda into modern lifestyles, Shri Devnani noted that Yoga, Pranayama, and Surya Namaskar not only keep the body physically healthy but also aid in maintaining mental equilibrium. He asserted that by adopting a regular yoga practice and a balanced lifestyle, the risk of developing heart diseases can be significantly mitigated. Assembly Speaker Mr. Devnani also highlighted the international recognition accorded to Yoga under the leadership of Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, stating that the International Yoga Day—being celebrated across the globe today—stands as a global tribute to India's ancient tradition.

Mr. Devnani remarked that the objective of the health schemes implemented by the Central and State governments is to provide superior medical facilities to the common people and to build a healthy nation. He identified regular health check-ups, de-addiction, a balanced diet, and stress management as essential measures for the prevention of heart diseases. He further added that, through this clinic, patients would receive not only medical treatment but also comprehensive information and guidance regarding organ transplants, thereby enabling them to lead better lives.

Describing this initiative as a powerful example of service to humanity, Assembly Speaker Mr. Devnani called upon everyone to pledge themselves to the creation of a healthy heart, a healthy life, and a healthy society.

Several dignitaries from the fields of medicine and social service were present on this occasion.
