Harshit Embraces Monkhood, Initiated as Muni Hitgunratnavijay by Acharya Raviratnasuriji

Sirohi, A spiritually uplifting atmosphere prevailed in Sirodi village near Sirohi as Mumukshu Harshit, son of Rekha Ben and Jitendra Kumar Sanghvi, renounced worldly life and embraced Jain monkhood in a grand Diksha Mahotsav held under the divine guidance of Acharya Shri Raviratnasuriji Maharaj, Acharya Shri Jayeshratnasuriji Maharaj, and Panyas Pravara Vairagyaratnavijayji Maharaj.

During the sacred initiation ceremony, Harshit was presented with the Rajoharan (Ogha), symbolizing his entry into the ascetic order. Overwhelmed with spiritual joy, he expressed his happiness by dancing with devotion, celebrating the beginning of his life of renunciation. Amid Vedic chants and traditional Jain rituals, Acharya Shri Raviratnasuriji formally conferred Diksha upon him, followed by the sacred Kesh Lochan (ritual plucking of hair).

When the newly initiated monk entered the ceremonial pavilion in his ascetic robes, devotees welcomed him with showers of rice grains (Akshat) and offered their first salutations. Acharya Shri Raviratnasuriji announced his monastic name as Muni Hitgunratnavijayji, drawing resounding applause and chants from the large gathering. He has become a disciple of Muni Jinvarratnavijayji Maharaj.

With this initiation, Muni Hitgunratnavijayji becomes the 18th Jain monk from Sirodi village and the seventh member of his own family to embrace the path of renunciation. The only son among eleven sisters, Harshit's radiant expression and spiritual glow deeply moved the devotees present.

On the occasion, Acharya Shri Labdhivallabhsuriji Maharaj blessed the newly initiated monk and remarked that Sirodi village has set a remarkable example by producing 52 individuals who have embraced ascetic life, bringing immense pride to both the village and the Jain community.

The Sanghvi family, led by Shantilalji Poonamchandji Sanghvi, expressed gratitude for the presence of a large number of Jain monks and nuns during the Diksha and Jeevit Mahotsav. Before the ceremony commenced, Harshit received a traditional Vijay Tilak from his parents and family members as they bid him an emotional farewell.

A grand Varghoda (religious procession) featuring elephants, horses, and a marching band was taken out through the village, where devotees warmly greeted the Mumukshu and offered heartfelt blessings. The privilege of performing the first Tilak was received by Smt. Vajubai Chunnilalji Family of Sirodi, while the honour of announcing the monk's new name was undertaken by the Shantilalji Poonamchandji Hira Panna Sanghvi Family. Devotees enthusiastically came forward to sponsor the various monastic articles and utensils required for the ascetic life.

Following the Diksha ceremony, Acharya Shri Raviratnasuriji departed with his disciples on a spiritual journey (Vihar) to Ahmedabad, where he will observe this year's Chaturmas in the New Vasna area.

On the auspicious occasion, Smt. Tulsi Ben Genmalji Family of Sirodi also announced, after seeking the blessings of Acharya Shri, that they would organize a Chhari Palit Sangh Yatra from Talaja Tirth to Palitana Tirth.

Concluding the celebrations, the organising Shantilalji Poonamchandji Sanghvi Family expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Jain Sangh, villagers, volunteers, and all devotees whose collective efforts made the Diksha Mahotsav a memorable and historic spiritual event.
