Floral Tribute to Martyrs at Rajasthan Legislative Assembly on Kargil Vijay Diwas (Sunday)

Jaipur . On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas this Sunday, Rajasthan Legislative Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani will pay homage to the martyrs by laying a floral wreath at the memorial site within the 'Kargil Shaurya Vatika' at 10:15 AM. West Bengal Legislative Assembly Speaker Rathindra Bose will also be present on this occasion.

Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani stated that Kargil Vijay Diwas is an occasion to pledge one's commitment to patriotism and respect for soldiers. The younger generation should draw inspiration regarding courage, discipline, and love for the nation from these brave soldiers. He remarked that Rajasthan is a land of heroes, and the state's brave soldiers have always played a leading role in the defense of the country. The establishment of the Kargil Shaurya Vatika within the Assembly complex is an effort to keep the memories of the brave soldiers' indomitable courage and sacrifice alive forever.

The Kargil Shaurya Vatika was constructed within the Assembly complex last year at the initiative of Speaker Vasudev Devnani. On the occasion of 'Hariyali Amavasya', 1,100 saplings were planted in this garden. Devnani had inaugurated the plantation drive in the garden by planting a *Sindoor* (Annatto) sapling.

On the 26th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas, 21 *Veeranganas* (brave women/martyrs' widows) also planted saplings in the Assembly's Kargil Shaurya Vatika alongside Speaker Devnani. Devnani mentioned that plant species such as *Sindoor*, Areca Palm, Song of India, Krishna Ficus, and Croton were planted in the garden. He noted that these plants, which help reduce air pollution, symbolize India's rich cultural heritage and natural beauty. The leaves of these plants, which create an atmosphere of positive energy, are used in traditional systems of medicine.

*Kargil Shaurya Vatika Dedicated to Martyrs*

Speaker Vasudev Devnani stated that the Kargil War, fought in the Kargil sector in 1999, stands as a significant example of the Indian Army's courage and sacrifice. The 'Shaurya Vatika' (Garden of Valor) established at the Legislative Assembly is dedicated to the heroism of the soldiers who were martyred in this war. It serves as a medium to foster a 'Nation First' spirit within society and inspire people towards national service.
