Kota, Rampura Bajaj Khana and the vegetable market were heavily congested today as shoppers from Kota and the Hadoti region flocked for Dhantrayodashi shopping, causing massive traffic jams across the markets. Following a warning from Pankaj Bagdi, Divisional President of the Wholesale Trade Federation, the police took charge of the situation and restored order.
Ahead of the festive rush, Pankaj Bagdi, along with presidents of Rampura Trade Association, Char Khamba Trade Association, Rampura Utensil Market, and other old wholesale market associations, had already briefed Additional SP Dilip Kumar Saini, Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Tailor, and Rampura Police Station In-Charge Santosh Chandrawat about the potential problems that could arise for both traders and customers.
The congestion in Rampura Bajaj Khana, Utensil Market, Vegetable Market, Char Khamba, and Vijay Market disrupted business, reducing sales and causing significant financial losses for traders.
Bagdi emphasized that the administration should have prepared in advance for the festival rush. With two days remaining for the festivities, he urged authorities to ensure smooth movement of people and vehicles so that no untoward incidents occur and traders can conduct their business efficiently. He warned that traders have already invested heavily in the season, and failure to manage the crowds is resulting in substantial losses.
Divisional President Pankaj Bagdi appealed to the administration to take the issue seriously and ensure tight control and proper arrangements over the next two days, so that traders and customers can carry out their activities safely and without disruption.
