BAP’s Indecorous Conduct at Dungarpur DISHA Meeting

Udaipur: The District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting held in Dungarpur on December 29 proved to be a significant turning point in the district’s political landscape. Strong reactions have emerged across the tribal belt and the entire district following the alleged indecorous behavior of Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP) MP Rajkumar Roat and a party विधायक toward the committee’s co-chairperson, MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat.

In the aftermath of the incident, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emerged in a stronger position in the district. Among the general public, a clear sentiment has surfaced that “there is finally someone who speaks up”—a leader who fearlessly raised his voice in support of the Constitution, development, and the government.

 Reduction in Discontent Related to the Dovda Incident; Balance Restored Among Communities

Political observers believe that dissatisfaction surrounding the Dovda incident—particularly among the general and OBC communities, and to some extent among the Bhil community—has significantly eased following this episode. By firmly presenting the government’s and the Constitution’s position during the meeting, MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat conveyed a strong message that the BJP is sensitive to the interests and dignity of all sections of society.

When issues beyond the agenda were raised during the DISHA meeting, it was expected that the district collector, who serves as the committee’s secretary, would clarify the situation. However, this did not happen. In such circumstances, MP Dr. Mannalal Rawat intervened and firmly upheld the government’s stance and constitutional framework.

Despite the deadlock, the meeting was completed due to his intervention, and the remaining agenda items were addressed by him toward the end. He categorically stated that the DISHA committee is a constitutional forum and its proceedings must strictly adhere to established rules.

He further clarified that the DISHA committee was constituted by the Central Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and therefore its discussions and decisions must align with the prescribed rules, spirit, and decorum. In the Vagad region, there is growing discussion over why such behavior was displayed by a legislator despite the BJP being in power in the state.

Following the entire episode, BAP’s political character has been portrayed as anti-development and misleading for the youth.
