Udaipur: Eleven trainee officers of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) from the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie, visited Narayan Seva Sansthan on Monday to observe and learn about the organization’s work in the fields of education, medical care, and social rehabilitation for persons with disabilities.
During the visit, the officers interacted with differently-abled individuals who had come from various states across the country for free treatment, as well as for the fitting of artificial limbs and calipers. The trainees spoke with them to understand their challenges and learned about the services and facilities provided by the institution.
According to the organization’s president, Prashant Agarwal, the group was led by Group Leader Gosika P. R. and Associate Group Leader Ankit Pandey. The team also included Hariprasath M., Sushant Kumar, Shivani Mohan, Saksham Bhatia, Patil Krishna Babruvan, Kumud Mishra, Farkhanda Qureshi, Divyansh Meena, and Abhishek Kumar Singh.
The trainee officers visited the institution’s campus in Badi and observed the surgical facilities for persons with disabilities. They also toured vocational training centers that provide skill-based education, including sewing, mobile repair, and computer training programs. Additionally, they visited the artificial limb and caliper manufacturing workshop.
The group also visited the Narayan Children Academy, where underprivileged children receive digital education. The officers showed keen interest in the children’s talents and creative skills.
During the visit, the institution’s director Vandana Agarwal welcomed the officers by presenting them with traditional uparna and mementos, and provided information about the organization’s free service initiatives. Dr. Vishal Agarwal explained the treatment process for persons with disabilities using the Ilizarov Technique, while Dr. Manas Ranjan Sahu explained the technology and types of artificial limbs and calipers manufactured at the institution.
