As part of the Water Source Worship Week that began on World Water Day (March 22), Bharat Vikas Parishad “Subhash” conducted water source worship programs on the fourth, fifth, and sixth days at various schools and colleges. The main objective of these programs was to promote the conservation of water and its sources.
Students and teachers actively participated in these events. During the कार्यक्रम, Shyam Mathpal led a collective recitation of his water-themed poem, while Dr. P.C. Jain, the Provincial In-charge for Water and De-addiction, conducted and led the singing of a water aarti.
Today’s program was held at the Government Sindhi Medium School (C-Class), Pratap Nagar, where a handpump was worshipped, followed by the distribution of coconuts among students.
Another program was organized at the Women’s Polytechnic College, Pratap Nagar. It took place near a banyan tree where a previously defunct handpump—revived through rooftop rainwater harvesting and now providing ample water—was worshipped.
This event also included a collective recitation of Shyam Mathpal’s water poem and the water aarti led by Dr. P.C. Jain, known as a “Water Hero.” The program was conducted by Kalpana Salvi, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Principal Khursheeda Banu.
