Fulfilling the Unfinished Dreams of the Late K.C. Maloo Would Be the True Tribute:

Jaipur . Public representatives and prominent figures from various fields paid tribute to the late K.C. Maloo—founder-chairman of the ‘Veena’ group, a stalwart of Rajasthani folk art, culture, and music, and recipient of the Rajasthan Ratna (the Rajasthan government's highest civilian award)—and pledged to fulfill his unfinished dreams. Civil Lines MLA Gopal Sharma, former Transport Minister and Deedwana MLA Yunus Khan, Sujangarh MLA Manoj Meghwal, and Dr. Lalit K. Panwar (IAS, Retd.)—Chancellor of Vivekananda Global University and former Tourism Secretary, Government of India—met the Maloo family to offer their condolences.

MLA Gopal Sharma stated that the passing of the late K.C. Maloo is an irreparable loss not only for Rajasthan but for the cultural landscape of the entire nation. He dedicated his entire life to the preservation and promotion of folk artists, folk music, and Rajasthani culture. Sharma remarked that realizing the vision of a music university, a world-class performing arts academy, a TV channel dedicated to Rajasthani culture, and global cultural events in Rajasthan would constitute a true tribute to him.

Former Minister and Deedwana MLA Yunus Khan observed that personalities like K.C. Maloo are born only once in centuries. He provided a platform, recognition, and a new identity to thousands of artists. Maloo Ji’s life conveys the message that serving culture and society is the highest form of duty. His passing is an irreparable loss to him personally as well.

Sujangarh MLA Manoj Meghwal stated that the late K.C. Maloo was the pride of Sujangarh. He brought glory to his birthplace at both national and international levels. His contribution toward securing global recognition for Rajasthani folk culture will forever be recorded in golden letters. He stated that Malu Ji’s dream was to develop world-class healthcare facilities in Sujangarh, and every possible support would be extended to realize this vision. The cultural and social initiatives he launched will continue to serve as an inspiration for future generations.

In his tribute, former Union Tourism Secretary Dr. Lalit K. Panwar remarked that K.C. Malu gave Rajasthani folk music a new global identity through the ‘Veena’ label; he was, in essence, the "Gulshan Kumar of Rajasthani folk music." Dr. Panwar noted that he and Malu Ji shared a close, familial bond spanning nearly 35 years. When Dr. Panwar, then Director of Tourism, created the famous Rajasthan tourism tagline "Padharo Mhare Desh" in 1991, Malu Ji personally visited him to offer congratulations. Subsequently, the Tourism Department, Jawahar Kala Kendra, RTDC, and the ‘Veena’ Group collaborated to organize numerous cultural events.

Dr. Panwar urged the governments of Rajasthan and India to honor the late K.C. Malu’s exceptional contributions by conferring a posthumous Padma award upon him. Such an honor would represent the nation's genuine tribute to Rajasthan's folk culture and its torchbearers.

On this occasion, Hemjit Malu shared that his late father, K.C. Malu, had also envisioned establishing a 250-bed super-specialty hospital in his hometown of Sujangarh—at an estimated cost of ₹250 crore—to ensure that high-quality medical facilities were available to local residents. He affirmed the family's resolve to fulfill all of his father's unaccomplished dreams, including the establishment of a music university and a performing arts academy.

All the dignitaries present to pay their respects unanimously agreed that the late K.C. Malu’s personality, cultural vision, and dedication to artists would remain a perpetual source of inspiration, and that his legacy would continue to guide future generations.

Among the senior administrative officials who paid their tributes were Harsahay Meena (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary, Government of Tamil Nadu (Chennai); Devaram Saini (IAS); and T.P. Key figures present included Meena (IRS), Sandeep Khandelwal (RAS)—Managing Director of Rajfed—and Executive Engineer Lalit Meena (River Front, Kota).

From the industrial and business sectors, Delhi industrialist Govind Bafna, Surat entrepreneur Suresh Bajaj, Raipur businessman Omprakash Bagdia, and Akhil Maheshwari of the Shakun Group paid their heartfelt tributes.

From the realms of art, literature, music, and cinema, distinguished figures—including senior theatre artist Murarilal Maharshi, senior litterateur Bharat Ola, senior art critic M.D. Soni, music directors Arvinder Singh and Biraj Kumar Mahanta, playback singer Satish Dehra, renowned Mumbai lyricist Sudhakar Sharma, and film distributor Nandu Jalani—expressed their humble tributes to the late Shri K.C. Malu.

Additionally, numerous eminent personalities from diverse fields—such as art, culture, literature, music, industry, business, politics, sports, and social service—paid heartfelt tributes to the late 'Rajasthan Ratna' Shri K.C. Malu, describing his multifaceted personality and lifelong contributions to society, art, and culture as unforgettable.
