Udaipur is set to host the 76th Constitution Day celebration on 26th November 2025 at the New Auditorium of MB Hospital, organized jointly by the Constitutional Rights Awareness Institute along with representatives of multi-community groups including Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, backward, and minority communities. The event aims to discuss and promote awareness about constitutional rights and encourage citizens to safeguard these rights for future generations.
Ganesh Lal Raykwal, President of the Constitutional Rights Awareness Institute, highlighted that this year’s celebration continues the tradition of state-level observance. He emphasized the importance of the Indian Constitution, the world’s most detailed written constitution, drafted by the visionary Dr. B.R. Ambedkar over 2 years, 11 months, and 18 days, and adopted on 26th November 1949. Dr. Ambedkar designed it to ensure a parliamentary democracy with accountable legislature, dedicated executive, and independent judiciary, providing equal opportunities for all citizens.
Despite 76 years of independence, many marginalized groups—including OBCs, STs, SACs, and minority communities—continue to face challenges such as poverty, unemployment, hunger, injustice, exploitation, child labor, illiteracy, gender-based violence, and discrimination in opportunities. These issues largely persist due to the inadequate implementation of constitutional provisions.
The event, organized by the Institute, seeks to empower majority communities by spreading knowledge of their constitutional rights and protecting these rights for future generations.
Babulal Ghavri, General Secretary of the Institute, stated that the celebration will feature prominent constitutional experts and guest speakers addressing key issues, raising awareness among multi-community groups. The chief speaker will be D.R. Ohol, National President of the Indian Employees’ Union, New Delhi, who will discuss the Constitution and current constitutional challenges. The inauguration will be conducted by Ambalal Salvi, Chief Manager, SBI, and the presidency will be held by Ganesh Lal Raykwal, founder of the Institute.
Other notable attendees include retired IAS officer Tara Chand Meena, Prof. Sudha Chaudhary (Department of Philosophy, Suvivi), national Bahujan activist Rais Malik, historian Khursheed Khan Qaimkhani, honorary member Prof. Bherulal Salvi, social activist Advocate Satyendra Pal Singh Chhabra, executive committee member Bishop Dr. Benjamin Dodiyar, Rev. Sunny S. Kumar (Presbyterian In-Charge Church), and several other dignitaries.
Program coordinator Prof. Amos Meena mentioned that this is the second such event organized by the Institute, aiming to educate every citizen about the Constitution and their fundamental rights. Awareness campaigns are being conducted across neighborhoods and villages, with plans to expand the initiative further.
Vice President Sukh Sampat Bagri Meena noted that the event will include in-depth discussions on the background, creation, and objectives of the Indian Constitution, along with the fundamental rights of OBCs, STs, SACs, and minority communities. The celebration is expected to draw 1,000–1,500 participants.
