Meeting of Food Security and Fair Price Shop Allocation Committee Held in Udaipur

Udaipur: In compliance with the directives of Food and Civil Supplies Minister Sumit Godara, a meeting of the District Food Security Committee and the Tehsil-Level Fair Price Shop Allocation Advisory Committee was held in Udaipur under the chairmanship of District Supply Officer (First) Srishti Dabas and District Supply Officer (Second) Manish Bhatnagar.

During the meeting, the District Supply Officers reviewed key departmental activities, including the inclusion and exclusion process under the National Food Security Scheme (NFSA), the ‘Give-Up’ campaign, Aadhaar seeding, e-KYC, and LPG ID linking. They also discussed the procedures for issuing advertisements for fair price shop allocations, ensuring that all departmental tasks are carried out in a time-bound and transparent manner.

Committee members were urged to regularly monitor and supervise fair price shops and to extend their cooperation in identifying eligible and ineligible beneficiaries. Special emphasis was placed on encouraging financially capable families currently availing benefits under the NFSA to voluntarily opt out through the state government’s ‘Give-Up’ campaign, thereby ensuring the inclusion of more deserving beneficiaries.

Additionally, the committee recommended that details of Vigilance Committee members—including their names and contact numbers—be displayed prominently at all fair price shops so that any eligible consumer facing issues related to the distribution of food grains can reach out for assistance.
