Udaipur: Under the Panch Gaurav Program initiated by Bhajanlal Sharma, the district administration and the sports training center have launched a block-level swimming talent search to identify and encourage young sports talents in the district. The first phase began on Monday with competitions held in Girva, Rishabhdev, Kherwara, and Nayagaon blocks, where young swimmers displayed their remarkable abilities.
District Sports Officer Dr. Mahesh Paliwal informed that the Girva block competition was held at Maharana Pratap Khel Gaon in Udaipur under the supervision of coaches Sunil Kumawat, Dharmveer Singh Ranawat, and Ranveer Singh Ranawat. Talented swimmers from the region were brought by block in-charges Dinesh Damor, Sanjay Pandya, and Omkar Lal Meena, and they participated enthusiastically.
The winners included Sanyam Meena, Tanush Saxena, Virendra Kumar Meena, Saurabh Sen, Arun Meena, Himmat Kumar Meena, Aarav Choubisa, Rajkumar Meena, Arjun Meena, Rajveer Singh Chauhan, Madan Gairi, Kartik Gurjar, Devagya Raj Soni, and Aaliya Saxena. All the swimmers were awarded medals and mementos.
Meanwhile, competitions for Rishabhdev, Kherwara, and Nayagaon were held at the swimming pool of Atithi Palace Hotel in Kherwara.
The Rishabhdev competition began at 10 a.m., where Sanjay Meena, Sheela Meena, Peepli A., Rion Bhagora, Shantilal Meena, and Kalpana Meena won gold medals. Silver medals were won by Seema Meena, Sushila Meena, Peepli A., Gaurav Meena, Rishabh Meena, and Ravi Prakash Meena, while bronze medals were secured by Ayush Meena (Peepli A.), Naman Meena, Govind Meena, Ashiq Meena, and Ritika Meena.
The Kherwara competition started at noon. Madhu Meena, Avinash Meena, and Kalpana won gold medals, while Shilpa Sandeep, Sangeeta, and Rashi won silver medals. Bronze medals were awarded to Nipika, Ashok, Primal, Priyanka Ahari, Ankita, and Sheetal.
The Nayagaon competition began at 2 p.m. Gold medals were won by Ravilal, Akshay, Alpesh, Pooja, and Sonia. Silver medals were secured by Shamil, Vijay, Rakesh, and Kajal, while Aryan Baranda, Sanjay, and Satyam won bronze medals.
On this occasion, social worker Paras Jain attended as the chief guest. The event was presided over by Bhudhar Sarpanch Badri Lal Bhagora, while Radheshyam Suthar attended as a special guest.
The judging panel included Bharat Bhushan Joshi, Lakshman Lal Baranda, Surya Khokhariya, Laluram Meena, Avinash Meena, Reena Damor, Roshan Gamar, Prabhulal Kharadi, and Lalshankar Meena. Team in-charge Bahadur Singh Meena was also present.
According to District Sports Officer Dr. Mahesh Paliwal, under the talent search program, competitions for Kotra, Jhadol, and Phalasiya blocks will be held on March 10 in Jhadol. On March 11, competitions for Gogunda, Sayra, Devla, and Badgaon will be organized in Gogunda. In the fourth phase, block-level competitions for Mavli, Vallabhnagar, Bhinder, and Kurabad will take place on March 12 in Bhatewar.
Selected participants will attend a 15-day residential training camp from March 13 to 28 at Maharana Pratap Khel Gaon in Udaipur, where expert coaches will provide specialized training to further develop their skills.
