Udaipur: Differently-abled employees working in the Government of Rajasthan have expressed their gratitude for the Chief Minister’s announcement to grant reservation in promotions to differently-abled employees with effect from June 30, 2016.
A press conference was organized on Wednesday at the Information Centre premises in Udaipur by the Rajasthan Divyang Utthan Samiti. Addressing media persons, the organization’s State President Dayanand Swarnkar along with other office bearers welcomed the decision of Bhajan Lal Sharma.
Swarnkar stated that the Chief Minister’s sensitive decision would provide respect and equal opportunities to the differently-abled community.
He also informed that the differently-abled employees submitted a memorandum addressed to the Chief Minister. In the memorandum, they demanded that the Personnel Department issue an official circular at the earliest regarding the promotion reservation decision.
Other demands included:
Strict implementation of the Equal Opportunity Policy–2025 in all government departments
Providing disability allowance to Rajasthan employees on par with the Central Government
Granting 50 percent relaxation in experience requirements for promotion
Conducting special recruitment drives to fill backlog vacancies
Implementing 4 percent promotion reservation in Jodhpur DISCOM
Those present at the press conference included Sanjay Paneri, Jai Prakash Darak, Vinod Kothari, Prakash Menaria, Murli Sarva, Deepak Dixit, Shivdan Dewaliya, Gopal Sharikh, Ashok Meghwal, Rakesh Swami, Manoj Puniya, Deepak Suwalka, Harshit Shukla, and Kishore Singh.
