Block-Level Swimming Competitions Conclude Under Panch Gaurav Program

Udaipur: The block-level swimming competitions, organized under the Panch Gaurav Program as part of the One District, One Sport initiative under the guidance of District Collector Namit Mehta, concluded on Thursday. The final day featured competitions for Udaipur City, Badgaon, Kurabad, Vallabhnagar, Bhinder, and Mavli blocks.

District Sports Officer Dr. Mahesh Paliwal stated that the competitions were part of a swimming talent search aimed at identifying and encouraging sports talent in the district. On Thursday, the competitions for Kurabad, Vallabhnagar, Bhinder, and Mavli blocks were successfully held at Krishnaraj Hotel Tank, Kurabad.

• Kurabad Block: 28 talented swimmers participated under the supervision of Ganpat Singh Jhala, Rajesh Chauhan, and Sarita Bharti.

• Vallabhnagar Block: 65 swimmers competed under block supervisors Manohar Sen, Dilip Louhar, Kachan Devda, and Devilal Menaria.

• Bhinder Block: 45 swimmers participated under the guidance of Vijay Menaria, Laxmilal Gurjar, and Naresh Menaria.

The competitions were graced by Chief Guest Bhanwarlal Bhatt, with Prakash Menar presiding as the president, and Dhanraj Ahir and Hiralal Suthar attending as special guests. Physical education teachers from all four blocks were present, and participants were awarded by the dignitaries.

Meanwhile, competitions for Badgaon and Udaipur City were held at Maharana Pratap Sports Village. Around 40 swimmers from Udaipur City took part. Winners in the girls’ category included:

• 50m Breaststroke: Nandini Singh Bhalla, Mansvi Singh Ranawat

• 100m Backstroke: Yashvi Patel, Nandika Soni

• 100m Freestyle: Iva Kumawat, Riya Aswani

• 50m Freestyle: Yoshita Vyas, Meshwa Somani

Boys’ category winners included:

• 50m Freestyle: Nabhraj Singh Rathore, Manthan Kumawat, Goraksh Joshi, Abhijeet Paliwal, Jai Raj Vaishnav, Shivansh Vaishnav

• 50m Breaststroke: Saurav Kumawat, Vansh Lakshkar

• 50m Backstroke: Aman Vaishnav, Gaurang Paliwal

• 100m Freestyle: Kalp Somani, Krishna Aswani

• 100m Backstroke: Himansh Malviya, Vijay Gameti

In Badgaon, winners were:

• Girls’ 50m Breaststroke: Vidhi Sanadhya

• 100m Freestyle: Ananya Dadheech

• 50m Backstroke: Lakshita Menaria, Nirvi Dhakad

• 50m Freestyle: Chitrakshi Kunwar Dodia, Vibha Pancholiya, Veera Pancholiya, Trishika Bhatnagar

• Boys’ 50m Freestyle: Vidhan Sanadhya, Maulik Paliwal, Ishwar

• 100m Freestyle: Govind Singh Rathore, Granth Soni, Naresh Gameti

Dr. Paliwal added that selected participants from these competitions will now undergo special training under expert coaches at a 15-day residential camp at Maharana Pratap Sports Village, Udaipur, running from 13th to 28th March.

This initiative aims to nurture young swimming talent in Udaipur and provide them with advanced coaching opportunities.
