Udaipur: Marking a significant milestone in Rajasthan’s emerging technology landscape, Nimo Labs has successfully unveiled NIKKI, an AI-based humanoid robot. Director of Nimo Labs, Nitin Purohit, stated that the robot has been entirely developed from the ground up.
Registered as a startup under iStart, Nimo Labs India Private Limited has been actively engaged in the robotics sector. Students trained by Nimo Labs have consistently participated in iStart-organized ideathons. Through the iStart initiative, the Rajasthan government is promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. NIKKI represents a major milestone for the Udaipur region. The unveiling event was attended by dignitaries, academicians, and industry experts who appreciated this innovative achievement.
NIKKI robot is an excellent example of artificial intelligence, embedded systems, and interactive technologies. Experts have described the project as “unique in itself,” recognizing it as a major technological accomplishment for Rajasthan that showcases local talent and practical innovation.
During the event, Jeevan Ram praised Nimo Labs’ efforts, noting that such innovations open new avenues for collaboration and strengthen the startup ecosystem. Additional Director of MSME, Ganesh, emphasized that humanoid robots are essential for the future and represent a critical beginning. He also highlighted the high demand for automation in industries, especially where cost-effective solutions are needed.
Satish Kumar Acharya added that while advancing technology is vital, maintaining a human touch is equally important to ensure balanced development that benefits society.
The Nimo Labs team highlighted their mission to prepare students for the future through experiential and project-based learning. NIKKI is expected to play a key role in education, demonstrations, and human-robot interaction. This achievement not only positions Nimo Labs as a leading innovation center but also strengthens Rajasthan as an emerging hub for robotics and AI.
