Udaipur : the city of lakes, is all set to establish a new identity on the national tennis stage. The prestigious Field Club will host the Professional Premier Tennis League (PPTL) Season 3 from April 9 to 12. Organized by the Veda SPSL Foundation, this high-profile league will feature around 150 professional players from across India, offering four days of thrilling and competitive matches for sports enthusiasts.
According to the chief organizer, Virendra Singh from Jaipur, one of the most unique aspects of this league is that all participants are established professionals in their respective fields—not just casual players. The lineup includes engineers, doctors, chartered accountants, MBA and MCA graduates, lawyers, judges, fashion designers, and hotel management experts. This means the tournament will showcase not only intense on-court action but also the diverse talents of professionals from across the country.
A total of 16 teams will compete in the tournament, with 128 players representing their respective teams. Each team consists of 8 players, making the matches strategically engaging, with a strong emphasis on teamwork, coordination, and individual performance. Given the league format, players will need to demonstrate an excellent balance of technique, fitness, and mental strength to secure victories.
Among the teams, “Uday Tigers,” owned by Udaipur’s well-known hotelier Yashpal Singh Sisodia, is expected to be a major highlight. Local fans are particularly excited about this team, and the home advantage along with strong crowd support could boost their performance significantly.
The tennis courts at the Field Club have been specially prepared for the event, featuring a grand stage, attractive lighting, and excellent seating arrangements for spectators. The organizers aim to create a festive atmosphere, making this league not just a tournament but a major sports festival for the city.
Key contributors to the successful organization of the event include Field Club members Umesh Manwani, Secretary Yashpal Singh Sisodia, Kapil Todawat, Vikas Kalra, Sandeep Bhargava, and Kunal Gandhi. The event is sponsored by EV car company VinFast as the main sponsor, along with several reputed brands as co-sponsors.
Virendra Singh noted that this is the first time Udaipur is hosting a tennis event of such scale. The league is expected to provide a strong competitive platform for players while also promoting tennis culture in the city. Given the enthusiasm among sports lovers, the event is likely to grow even bigger in the coming years.
