Udaipur: Under the aegis of the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority, Jaipur, and as per the directions of District Legal Services Authority Chairman and District & Sessions Judge Gyan Prakash Gupta, judicial officers posted at the Udaipur headquarters and across talukas visited pre-identified government and private schools to spread legal awareness among students and staff.
As part of the “Transformative Tuesday” initiative, District & Sessions Judge Gyan Prakash Gupta addressed students at Miranda Senior Secondary School, educating them about cybercrime, the POCSO Act, and the roles of NALSA (National Legal Services Authority), RALSA (Rajasthan Legal Services Authority), DALSA (District Legal Services Authority), and Taluka Legal Services Committees. He also informed them about the “Court Wali Didi” complaint box initiative.
Judicial officers across Udaipur and its talukas conducted similar sessions in schools, providing students and staff with important legal information. ADJ Kuldeep Sharma stated that the Rajasthan State Legal Services Authority has launched the “Transformative Tuesday – Legal Literacy and Sensitization Program” across schools in the state, with its formal inauguration held on Tuesday.
During the session at Miranda School, Judge Gupta and ADJ Kuldeep Sharma educated students about ways to prevent cybercrime, provisions of the POCSO Act, POSH Act, Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, the functioning of JJB (Juvenile Justice Board) courts, and the availability of free legal aid. Students were also informed about helplines such as NALSA Helpline (15100), Cyber Helpline (1930), and Child Helpline (1098), along with the NALSA portal.
ADJ Kuldeep Sharma further informed that judicial officers brought complaint boxes along with them to schools and created awareness about the “Court Wali Didi” complaint box. These boxes have been placed within schools, allowing students and staff to submit complaints. The boxes will be collected by the court after two days and can only be opened by the concerned judicial officer.
Additionally, the process to establish Junior Legal Literacy Clubs in all government and private schools (classes 9 to 12) has been initiated. Each club will include the school principal, a senior female staff member, and two student representatives, as per instructions issued to school heads.
At Miranda School, Director Dr. Dileep Singh Yadav and Principal Mona Paliwal welcomed ADJ Kuldeep Sharma. On the occasion of the program’s launch, another event was आयोजित at Abhinav Senior Secondary School, Gariyawas, where ADJ Kuldeep Sharma conducted a similar awareness session, attended by institution head Upendra Rawal.
