District-Level Launch of Viksit Bharat G-RAMJI Act in Udaipur; Rural Families to Get 125 Days of Guaranteed Employment

Udaipur: The district-level launch of the Viksit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (VB G-RAMJI) Act was held on Thursday at Pipalwas Gram Panchayat under the Girwa Panchayat Samiti, marking a significant step towards strengthening rural employment, infrastructure development, and self-reliance.

Under the newly introduced Act, eligible rural families will now receive 125 days of guaranteed employment annually, an increase from the earlier 100-day guarantee. Wages will be paid every 15 days, and the scope of development works under the scheme has also been expanded to facilitate the creation of durable community assets while generating sustainable employment opportunities.

Addressing the gathering, Rajya Sabha MP Chunnilal Garasia, the Chief Guest, said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is steadily progressing toward new milestones of development. He stated that the VB G-RAMJI Act has been introduced after addressing the shortcomings of the earlier MGNREGA scheme, enabling Gram Panchayats to undertake a wider range of development works. He added that the Central Government aims to transform India into a developed nation by 2047, with every Gram Panchayat playing a key role in achieving this vision.

Social worker Gajpal Singh described the Act as a historic initiative that would strengthen the rural economy by creating more employment opportunities, accelerating infrastructure development, and reinforcing the vision of a developed India.

Former Girwa Panchayat Samiti Pradhan Takht Singh Shaktawat highlighted the key features of the Act and urged villagers to actively participate in the Rural Service Camps organized by the State Government to maximize the benefits of various welfare schemes.

District Council ACEO Virma Ram explained the objectives and major provisions of the Act, stating that the scheme is not limited to providing employment but is also focused on expanding rural infrastructure, creating durable public assets, and ensuring holistic rural development.

During the programme, villagers were informed in detail about the scheme's features, employment provisions, and development initiatives. Local public representatives and government officials encouraged residents to actively participate in the implementation of the programme and contribute to the overall development of their villages.

The event was conducted by Ranjit Singh Ranawat. Among those present were BDO Ajit Singh, Rajeevika DPM Khyalilal Khatik, officials from the Rural Development Department and other government departments, along with a large number of local residents.
