The primary aim of the event was to reduce the rising incidence of bone and heart-related ailments among elderly individuals through scientific diet management, lifestyle improvement, and psychological well-being awareness.
After registration, participants underwent Bone Mineral Density (BMD) testing, followed by dietary guidelines to prevent osteoporosis.
Dean of the college Dr. Dhruti Solanki outlined the program structure and shared detailed information.
Program coordinator and Head of the Department, Prof. Dr. Renu Mogra, explained the objectives and facilitated group discussions and individual dietary counseling sessions led by Prof. Sarla Lakhawat and her team. Participants received guidance on age-specific nutritional needs, balanced diets, hydration, and disease-preventive eating practices.
Dr. Gajendra Joshi, Cardiologist, Siddhi Vinayak Hospital, Udaipur, delivered a lecture on “Heart Diseases in Old Age: Causes, Prevention, and Role of Diet,” emphasizing the significance of balanced nutrition in maintaining heart health.
Dr. Gayatri Tiwari, Human Development & Family Studies expert and retired professor, spoke on “Mental Health in the Elderly and Its Relationship with Dietary Intake,” highlighting the psychological aspects of ageing.
Dr. C.K. Ameta, senior Orthopedic Specialist, presented a session on “Bone Health Care and Key Points for Managing Osteoporosis,” discussing the importance of calcium, vitamin D, prevention of bone degeneration, and strategies for maintaining bone density in the elderly.
