Training Program for Women Farmers: MPUAT Organizes Workshop on Modern Mango Production Techniques in Pahada Village

Udaipur: Under the All India Coordinated Fruit Project being implemented at MPUAT, a one-day training and input distribution program for women farmers was organized in Pahada village, Panchayat Samiti Nayagaon, Tehsil Kherwara, under the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan. The program focused on adopting modern techniques for mango cultivation, with participation from 25 women farmers.

During the training, subject experts Dr. S.S. Lakhawat, Dr. P.S. Rao, and Dr. Virendra Singh provided detailed guidance on modern methods of establishing orchards with improved varieties of mango. The farmers were also informed about intercropping practices, such as growing seasonal vegetables between mango trees and cultivating root and tuber crops in bund areas to enhance productivity and increase income.

At the concluding session, Project In-charge Dr. S.S. Lakhawat, along with Dr. P.S. Rao and Dr. Virendra Singh, distributed 25 saplings of improved mango varieties, along with fertilizers and pesticides, to each participating woman farmer.

Dr. S.S. Lakhawat expressed his sincere gratitude to all the subject experts and women farmers for their active participation in the program.
