Vice Chancellor’s Visit and “Srijan-2026” Infuse New Energy into Agriculture College, Bhilwara

Udaipur : The Agriculture College, Bhilwara organized its annual function “Srijan-2026” on May 20, 2026, under the chairmanship of Dr. Pratap Singh, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology (MPUAT), Udaipur.

The chief guest of the program, Hon’ble MP Shri Damodar Agarwal, expressed concern over the harmful effects caused by the increasing use of chemicals in agriculture. He emphasized that natural and organic farming are effective solutions to these challenges. He also highlighted major developmental works being undertaken at the central level in Bhilwara, including the railway line doubling project from Ajmer to Chittorgarh and the construction of Railway Over Bridges (ROBs).

Addressing the students, Dr. Pratap Singh stated that skill development is essential for a bright future. He congratulated the college students for securing first position at the university level five times and winning gold medals. He encouraged students to set clear career goals, work hard to achieve them, and explore modern technologies such as AI-based agricultural startups.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Pratap Singh also informed the MP about the need for an auditorium and the first floor extension of the girls’ hostel at the Agriculture College, Bhilwara. In response, MP Shri Damodar Agarwal advised the university to prepare a proposal for the upcoming DMFT Governing Council meeting and assured his full support for the project. The issue of a permanent solution for pensioners of all agricultural universities in Rajasthan was also raised before the MP by the Vice Chancellor and other pensioners, to which the MP assured a positive resolution.

Dr. (Mrs.) Prakash Panwar, Dean of the Agriculture College, welcomed the guests and presented a detailed report on the annual achievements of the college.

Students presented colorful cultural performances including solo and group dances, solo and group singing, and drama performances. Trophies and certificates were awarded to students securing first, second, and third positions in sports activities such as basketball, cricket, badminton, and volleyball, as well as competitions like rangoli, poster making, and NSS camps. Students participated enthusiastically in the celebrations.

Prior to the main program, Chief Guest Shri Damodar Agarwal and Vice Chancellor Dr. Pratap Singh inaugurated the Video Conference Hall located at the Agriculture College campus.

The event was attended by Director of Extension Education and Research Dr. R.L. Soni, retired former Dean Dr. S.D. Dhakad, retired Professor R.L. Suwalka, Professor O.P. Parik, Dr. K.L. Jeengar, other staff members, and students of the college. Officers and staff from Krishi Vigyan Kendra and the Dryland Agriculture Research Center were also present.

On the second day of the visit, the Vice Chancellor inspected the instructional farm, natural farming unit, animal husbandry unit, horticulture unit, and seed science center of the college. He instructed the staff to ensure proper maintenance and explore additional sources of income from these units. He also visited the girls’ hostel and interacted with the students.

The program was jointly conducted by Dr. Ramavatar and college student Deepti Kumari. At the end of the event, Dr. Suchitra Dadhich delivered the vote of thanks to all the distinguished guests and attendees.
