PIMS Mewar Cup Season 4: Udaipur Lakesity Warriors Defeat Star-Studded GCA Cloth by Three Wickets

Udaipur: In the PIMS Mewar Cup Season 4, jointly organized by Pacific Hospital, Vinay Cricket Club, and Leela Foundation, Saturday’s matches delivered thrilling cricket action. In a nail-biting encounter, Udaipur Lakesity Warriors overcame a star-studded GCA Cloth team by three wickets.

GCA Cloth, batting first, scored 208 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs, thanks to Priyash Patel’s explosive knock of 56 runs, including three sixes and six fours, and Hemang Patel’s contribution of 27 runs. For Udaipur Lakesity Warriors, Mohammad Shahrukh Khan, Ankur Panwar, and Vashrwaraj Rana picked up two wickets each.

Chasing 209, the Lakesity Warriors’ innings was tense. At the end of 18 overs, they were struggling at 190 for seven. In the 19th over, they added just 10 runs, making the final over decisive. Japangya Bhatt took charge to defend 8 runs, but Kunal Singh Rathore smashed a six and added two more runs, steering his team to a thrilling victory. Rathore’s brilliant innings included seven sixes and six fours, scoring 89 runs, while Samarth Vyas contributed 44 runs off 31 balls, securing the win by three wickets.

Earlier in the morning session, the Delhi Challengers dominated Balaji Construction, winning by a huge margin of nine wickets. Balaji Construction managed 144 runs in 20 overs, which the Delhi Challengers chased down effortlessly. Uves Ahmed led the chase with a fiery 69 runs off just 31 balls, hitting 5 fours and 7 towering sixes, supported by Raghav Dhawan’s 61 runs off 33 balls. The team reached the target in 13 overs for the loss of just 1 wicket.

For Balaji Construction, Harsh Tyagi fought valiantly, scoring 65 runs off 48 balls, including 9 fours and 2 sixes, but failed to get support from other batsmen. In bowling, Ashok Sharma excelled, taking 3 wickets for just 19 runs in 4 overs, helping Delhi Challengers dominate the match.
