Udaipur — The new academic session 2025–26 for MBBS students at Pacific Medical College & Hospital (PMCH) commenced today with a ceremonial and traditional welcome. The newly admitted students were greeted with the auspicious kumkum tilak, marking the beginning of their medical journey in a culturally rooted manner.
The inauguration began with the lighting of the lamp before Maa Saraswati, symbolising wisdom and learning. The highlight of the event was the grand White Coat Ceremony, during which the new medical students were formally presented with their white coats — a symbolic moment signifying the start of their professional path and ethical responsibilities in the field of medicine. The ceremony is considered a milestone, representing the students’ commitment to service, compassion, and integrity.
PMCH Chairman Rahul Agrawal congratulated the students and encouraged them to embrace the noble path they are entering. He said that the day marks not just the beginning of a new academic year but also a significant chapter in their lives. “Medicine is a profession rooted in service to humanity. Every step you take will not only bring pride to your family, college, and society but will also give you immense satisfaction as you contribute to human welfare,” he remarked.
Addressing the students, PMU’s Dr. M.M. Mangal highlighted the importance of medical education and the ethical foundation required in the profession. He said the white coat is not merely an attire but a symbol of responsibility, dedication, and compassion. “When you wear this coat, you step into a role that carries deep societal responsibility,” he added.
PMCH Principal Dr. U.S. Parihar advised the newly enrolled students to aspire not only to become skilled doctors but also individuals worthy of society’s trust and respect. He emphasised that the white coat represents both knowledge and the responsibility that comes with it.
The event was graced by PMCH Medical Superintendent Dr. Sunita Maheshwari, PMU President (Pro) Dr. Sangeeta Chauhan, PG Dean Dr. R.K. Paliwal, PMCH Vice Principal Dr. Monali, heads of various departments, and parents of the newly enrolled students.
