Sri Ganganagar: A review meeting on the progress of Digital E-Bari and E-Aabiyana schemes was held on Friday at the Collectorate Auditorium under the chairmanship of District Collector Dr. Manju. The meeting reviewed the progress achieved under both initiatives in detail and directed the concerned officials to complete the remaining work within the prescribed timelines.
Digital E-Bari: Transparent and Efficient Irrigation Management
District Collector Dr. Manju stated that, as per the instructions of Hon’ble Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, these initiatives have been implemented for the benefit of farmers, making irrigation management and water charges transparent, simple, and effective. Officials were instructed to ensure quality implementation, timely completion, and prompt data entry into the E-Bari app.
District Information Officer Paramjit Singh explained that Digital E-Bari is a smart online system developed by NIC Sri Ganganagar, designed to digitize and streamline canal-based irrigation management. Previously, irrigation slips were prepared manually by water user associations, but now the irrigation schedule can be generated with a single click. Farmers can access their irrigation schedule anytime via mobile or online platforms.
The system will directly benefit 180 water user associations, around 2,97,500 farmers, and 1,223 villages in the district. The initiative promotes water conservation, sustainable agriculture, good governance, and strengthens the rural economy, while saving time, reducing labor, eliminating biases, and enhancing farmers’ trust.
E-Aabiyana: Digital Innovation in Irrigation Charge Management
To make the determination and collection of irrigation charges (Aabiyana) simpler, transparent, and efficient, the E-Aabiyana digital initiative is being developed in Sri Ganganagar. The system integrates crop details, land records, and irrigation area data to ensure accurate calculation of charges.
Through E-Aabiyana, the administration will have access to real-time data, enabling better monitoring and revenue management, while introducing automation and efficiency in departmental operations. Farmers can check their payable and paid Aabiyana via the app and make digital payments. This initiative saves time, reduces errors, promotes transparency, and represents a significant step toward farmer-centric, technology-driven governance.
