Special Trains from Shri Ganganagar to Samastipur and Gorakhpur for Holi Festival Passenger Convenience

Shri Ganganagar: Responding to a demand by former Union Minister Shri Nihal Chand and considering the increased passenger traffic during the Holi festival, the railways have decided to run weekly special trains from Shri Ganganagar to Samastipur and Gorakhpur to facilitate travelers.
According to former ZRUCC member Bhim Sharma, there had been significant demand to resume the train services that had previously operated on this route.
North Western Railway Chief Public Relations Officer Amit Sudarshan provided the schedule details:
•    Train No. 04731 – Shri Ganganagar to Samastipur Weekly Special: Runs from March 1 to March 29, 2026 (5 trips). The train will depart from Shri Ganganagar every Sunday at 13:25 hrs and reach Samastipur the following day at 23:30 hrs.
•    Train No. 04732 – Samastipur to Shri Ganganagar Weekly Special: Runs from March 3 to March 31, 2026 (5 trips). The train will depart from Samastipur every Tuesday at 01:00 hrs and arrive at Shri Ganganagar the next day at 12:20 hrs.
The trains will stop at the following stations along the route: Sadulshahr, Hanumangarh, Sangaria, Mandi Dabwali, Ramana, Sirsa, Mandi Adampur, Hisar, Hansi, Rohtak, Delhi, Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Bareilly, Sitapur, Burhwal, Gonda, Basti, Gorakhpur, Deoria Sadar, Siwan, Chhapra, Sonpur, Hajipur, and Muzaffarpur.
Each train will have a total of 20 coaches: 1 Second AC, 2 Third AC, 11 Second Sleeper, 4 General Class, and 2 Guard Vans.
Similarly, for Shri Ganganagar–Gorakhpur service:
•    Train No. 04729 – Shri Ganganagar to Gorakhpur Weekly Special: Runs from February 26 to March 26, 2026 (5 trips). The train departs Shri Ganganagar every Thursday at 13:25 hrs and reaches Gorakhpur on Friday at 16:30 hrs.
•    Train No. 04730 – Gorakhpur to Shri Ganganagar Weekly Special: Runs from February 27 to March 27, 2026 (5 trips). The train departs Gorakhpur every Friday at 19:30 hrs and arrives at Shri Ganganagar on Sunday at 02:45 hrs.
This route includes stops at Sadulshahr, Hanumangarh, Sangaria, Mandi Dabwali, Ramana, Sirsa, Mandi Adampur, Hisar, Hansi, Rohtak, Delhi, Ghaziabad, Moradabad, Bareilly, Sitapur, Burhwal, Gonda, Balrampur, Badhni, and Siddharthnagar.
Each train will consist of 20 coaches: 1 Second AC, 2 Third AC, 11 Second Sleeper, 4 General Class, and 2 Guard Vans.
ZRUCC member Sunil Agrawal suggested that the railways should consider making this service regular.
