Students of Tapovan Special Education and Research Centre made aware on the eve of International Women’s Day: ADJ Mr. Suthar

Sri Ganganagar: On the directions of District Legal Services Authority Chairman Mr. Ravindra Kumar (District and Sessions Judge), Sri Ganganagar, a legal awareness camp was organized on Saturday at Tapovan College of Special Education and Research Centre, Sri Ganganagar on the eve of International Women’s Day. The camp was conducted by Mr. Ravi Prakash Suthar (Additional District and Sessions Judge), Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, Sri Ganganagar.

During the camp, Mr. Suthar addressed the students and college staff present and extended advance greetings for International Women’s Day. He explained that the day is a global occasion celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. Its purpose is to raise awareness for women’s equality and eliminate gender discrimination.

He further informed that March 8 is historically linked to the struggle of Russian women in 1917 who protested for “Bread and Peace.” He added that today India is progressing from “women’s development” towards women-led development, where women are advancing in fields such as education, defense, and science.

During the session, Mr. Suthar also provided detailed information to the students about child marriage laws, victim compensation schemes, free legal aid, and the National Lok Adalat.

On this occasion, Chief LADC Mr. Rohtash Yadav explained the functioning of the Legal Aid Defense Counsel System and informed participants about the NALSA helpline number 15100.

The event was also attended by Dr. Gaurav Dutta, Coordinator of Tapovan College of Special Education and Research Centre; advocates Amandeep Chalana and Karan Dhawan from LADC; and legal trainee Anjali Singh, among others.
