Protest in Riddhi Siddhi Aashiyana Colony Demanding Removal of Encroachments on 60-Foot Master Plan Roads

Sriganganagar: The Master Plan Struggle Committee held a protest outside the Urban Improvement Trust (UIT) office, demanding the immediate removal of encroachments by colonizers on the 60-foot-wide master plan roads inside Riddhi Siddhi Aashiyana Colony, located along Good Shepherd Public School Road (Vedprakash Joshi Marg). During the protest, committee members raised slogans against both the colonizers and UIT officials and submitted a detailed memorandum to the UIT Secretary.

Ramphal Vishnoi, a committee member, told reporters that a 60-foot-wide master plan road is proposed running east-west from Radha Krishna Mandir along the plots numbered 36, 37, and 38 of Chak 4-E Chhoti up to Colonel Cheema Marg. Similarly, a north-south master plan road is proposed between plots 37 and 38. The committee demanded that these roads be fully marked in red and that all encroachments by colonizers and others be removed immediately.

He added that colonizers have constructed a park on plots 36, 37, and 38, completely blocking the east-west master plan road. The north-south road still lacks red marking. Additionally, a gate has been installed at the colony’s main entrance, obstructing public access and causing serious inconvenience to residents.

Ramphal Vishnoi warned that these roads are officially approved as 60-foot-wide master plan roads. If proper markings are not made and obstructions not removed, future road construction and encroachment removal efforts will face major difficulties. He emphasized that the committee is continuously running a public movement across the city to restore all master plan roads to their original design and remove illegal encroachments.

Prominent members of the Master Plan Struggle Committee present at the protest included Ramphal Vishnoi, former councilor Sushilkumar Pappu, Shersingh Lawa, Jaypal Sharma, Purnchand Sharma, Naresh Sharma, Chunnilal, Baggasingh, Rakesh Joshi, Vijaykrishna Kaushik, Ashish Singh, Dayaram, Satish Goyal, and Sanjeev Thakur.

The committee issued a clear warning that if UIT does not meet their demands promptly, the movement will be intensified and complaints will be escalated to higher authorities. Local residents expressed their full support, stating that master plan roads are public property and cannot be seized by any individual or colonizer.
