Drug Awareness Workshop Held at Dentistry Department, Tantia University

Sriganganagar: As part of the ongoing Drug-Free Sriganganagar Campaign, a drug awareness workshop was organized at the Dentistry Department of Tantia University to educate youth about the harmful effects of substance abuse and promote social awareness. The initiative was led by District Collector Dr. Manju and District Police Superintendent Dr. Amrita Duhan, aiming to empower students and future doctors to play a proactive role against drug abuse in society.

During the program, Mr. Vikram Jyani from the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment emphasized that becoming a doctor is not just a profession but often fulfills a family’s dream. He highlighted that a doctor’s responsibility extends beyond treating illnesses—they also contribute to building a healthy and aware society. He cautioned that the first step toward substance use is the most dangerous, and preventing it in time can save a life from ruin.

Mr. Jyani encouraged the students, stating that being aware allows them to protect not just themselves but also others from falling into the trap of addiction. He noted that awareness is the first step toward change, and students can become the carriers of that change.

The workshop was attended by Principal Dr. Rahul, Vice Principal Dr. Navneet Kathuria, Dr. Gagan, Dr. Navreet, and Dr. Indu. Students were given detailed insights into the physical, mental, and social consequences of drug use. They were also informed about how substance abuse gradually weakens an individual’s health, family, and future.

Students were encouraged to inspire those around them to stay away from drugs. At the conclusion of the workshop, the participants pledged to remain drug-free themselves and to actively promote the message of a drug-free society.
