Sri Ganganagar: As part of the ongoing Drug-Free Sri Ganganagar Campaign led by District Collector Dr. Manju and Superintendent of Police Harishankar, a stage play was organized in Sidhuwala village on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Bhagat Singh.
The objective of the program was to keep youth away from substance abuse and inspire them toward nation-building.
From the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment, Vikram Jyani addressed the gathering. Recalling Bhagat Singh’s famous thought—“Revolutions are not brought by bombs and pistols, but by ideas”—he conveyed the message that true strength lies not in weapons but in ideas and determination. He emphasized that addiction and violence weaken society, whereas awareness and positive thinking strengthen it.
As a special highlight, an impactful play against drug abuse was presented. Vikram Jyani, along with his team members Lakshya Jyani and Sahiram, brought the harsh reality of addiction to life through powerful performances.
The play depicted how substance abuse can destroy a happy family and shatter the dreams of youth.
Sub-Divisional Officer Bharat Jai Prakash remarked that there was a time when India was shackled under British rule, which was broken by the sacrifices of brave martyrs. Today, he said, many young people are getting trapped in the chains of addiction. He urged the youth to break free from this “new form of slavery” and contribute to building a strong, aware, and drug-free India.
During the program, the youth took a pledge to stay away from drugs and to help their peers come out of addiction.
