“Hariyalo Rajasthan” and District Environment Committee Meeting Held; Collector Gives Key Directives

Sriganganagar: A meeting of Hariyalo Rajasthan and the District-Level Environment Committee was held on Monday at the District Collectorate Hall under the chairmanship of District Collector Dr. Amit Yadav. The discussions focused on environmental conservation, tree plantation, plastic elimination, and pollution control in the district.

During the meeting, the Collector directed the preparation of the 2026-27 action plan under Mission Hariyalo Rajasthan to ensure large-scale tree plantation. He emphasized regular monitoring of designated model areas and implementing campaigns to control single-use plastics effectively.

Dr. Yadav highlighted that all departments must coordinate to address environmental challenges and involve government and non-government organizations in the initiatives. He stressed the importance of post-plantation care, timely resolution of forestry and environmental cases, and increased public awareness activities.

The Collector also instructed the IT team to train all departments in the effective use of environmental portals and online reporting, ensuring timely data collection and monitoring. The meeting included discussions on the Mission Hariyalo Rajasthan work plan, gazette notifications, single-use plastic bans, environmental issue resolution, operation of power saw machines, and forest crime cases.

Deputy Conservator of Forests Rakesh Dular stated that all departments would be assigned specific plantation targets and must complete preparatory work such as fencing and digging in advance. He informed that 14 lakh saplings are being raised in 21 nurseries across Sriganganagar, and departments can place requests at nearby nurseries. Geo-tagging of all plants will be mandatory.

Officers from various departments presented updates on their respective tasks. The District Collector instructed all departments to implement the action plan within the prescribed timeline.
