Punjab Powerlifter Qualifies for the 2026 International Championship in Bhutan

The selection trials for the 2026 International Bodybuilding and Powerlifting Championship, organized by the World Power Sports Federation (WPSF), were held on July 26, 2026, in Jaipur, Rajasthan, to select athletes who will represent India at the international championship in Bhutan.

The World Power Sports Federation continues to promote bodybuilding and powerlifting across India by identifying talented athletes and encouraging them to achieve excellence at the international level.

During the selection event, competitors participated in various powerlifting disciplines, including the Powerlifting Total, Bench Press, Squat, and Deadlift categories. Saurabh Kumar, a 23-year-old powerlifter from Jalandhar, Punjab, delivered an outstanding performance and won the gold medal, securing his place on the Indian team for the upcoming international championship in Bhutan.

Following his selection, Saurabh's family, friends, and relatives expressed their joy and congratulated him on this remarkable achievement. Members of the World Power Sports Federation also extended their congratulations, encouraging him to continue working hard and bring further glory to India on the international stage.
