Five-Day Shri Khatu Shyam Katha Begins with Devotion, Faith and Spiritual Fervour

Udaipur: A five-day Shri Khatu Shyam Katha organised by Krishna Seva Sansthan commenced with great devotion and spiritual fervour at the premises of Shri Rajrajeshwar Mahadev Temple in Tekri on Sunday.

The sacred कथा, being narrated by Pujya Sant Shiromani Shri Krishna Sanjay Ji Maharaj, Peethadhish of Mohan Gokuldham Peeth, Haridwar, turned the temple premises into a vibrant centre of faith, devotion and spiritual energy.

Before the कथा began, a grand Kalash Yatra was taken out in the morning. Women devotees carried sacred kalashs on their heads and, accompanied by devotional music and bhajans, sang and danced to the chants of Shyam Baba, creating an atmosphere filled with devotion along the entire route. The large gathering of devotees and their enthusiasm gave the procession a distinctly spiritual character.

Among those participating in the Kalash Yatra were social worker and philanthropist Kalu Lal Jain, Krishna Seva Sansthan president and Happy Home School director Jagdish Arora, Kirti Sood, Raman Sood, chief yajmans Manish and Madhu Jaiswal, Suwalka Samaj president Surya Prakash Suwalka, Kamal Sondhi, Shriratna Mehta, Simran Gakherja, retired ICICI Bank official Pramod Jangid, organising committee members Ashok Mathur and Sanjana Mathur, Leena Jaiswal, Rana Jaiswal, Ritu Agrawal, Surbhi Arora, Rakesh Duggal and Dr. Nisha Agrawal, along with a large number of devotees of Shri Khatu Shyam Ji.

The procession began from the Rajrajeshwar Temple premises in Rajendra Nagar and passed through Tekri Chauraha, Santosh Nagar and Gayariyawas, before returning to the temple.

At the temple, the Vyas Peeth was ceremonially worshipped amid the chanting of Vedic mantras. Pujya Shri Krishna Sanjay Ji Maharaj then took his seat at the Vyas Peeth and formally commenced the Shri Khatu Shyam Katha.

In his discourse, Maharaj Shri presented an engaging and detailed account, based on the Skanda Purana, of the divine form, glory, sacrifice, valour and compassion of Shri Shyam Baba, as well as his significance as an incarnation for the present age.

He said that Shri Khatu Shyam Ji is not merely a folk deity but a symbol of faith, surrender and selfless devotion. Devotees who seek refuge in him, he said, experience the power of faith and devotion. During the कथा, the installation of the Navgrahas, worship of various deities and other Vedic rituals were also performed.

Devotional bhajans dedicated to Shyam Baba further intensified the spiritual atmosphere. Many devotees became emotionally immersed in the music and danced with devotion, while the entire temple complex resonated with popular bhajans celebrating Shri Shyam Baba.

The organising committee said that the sacred Shri Khatu Shyam Katha will continue from August 10 to August 13, daily from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Shri Rajrajeshwar Mahadev Temple, Tekri.

The committee has appealed to devotees of Shri Shyam Baba, spiritual seekers and citizens from Udaipur and surrounding areas to participate in the कथा in large numbers and receive the blessings and spiritual benefit of the sacred occasion.
