Green Revolution, Environmental Conservation Need of the Hour: Sukhadia VC

UDAIPUR, India — Mohanlal Sukhadia University and the Consumer Protection Organization planted 30 saplings on the university campus Thursday as part of the Rajasthan government's 'Haryalo Rajasthan' campaign, urging greater public participation in environmental conservation.

The plantation drive featured native species, including Peepal, Neem, Ashoka and Amla, and concluded with participants taking a pledge to protect and nurture the newly planted trees.

The program was held under the guidance of Prof. Kailash Daga, Vice-Chancellor of Mohanlal Sukhadia University, and Dr. Rajashree Gandhi, National President of the Consumer Protection Organization.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. Daga said environmental conservation and a renewed green movement have become essential in the face of climate change, increasing pollution and the overexploitation of natural resources. He said every citizen should plant and care for at least one tree to help create a cleaner, healthier environment for future generations.

Dr. Gandhi said trees are the foundation of ecological balance and vital to human survival. She urged citizens to make tree plantation and the long-term care of saplings a personal responsibility rather than a one-time activity.

As part of the event, organizers also unveiled a "Green Revolution" awareness poster promoting environmental protection and sustainable development.

Among those present were Shirish Nath Mathur, National Coordinator of the Consumer Protection Organization; Pravin Nahar, District President; Dr. Naveen Nandwana, Dean of the Faculty of Arts; Dr. Dolly Mogra; Dr. P.S. Rajput; along with university faculty members, research scholars and students, including Premlata Mehta, Rajendra Paliwal and Bhupesh Khemesara.
