### Tobacco Cessation Center Inaugurated at GMCH

Udaipur. On 24th September, a Tobacco Cessation Center was inaugurated at Geetanjali Medical College and Hospital by the Honorable Union Health Minister of India, Shri J.P. Nadda, through a virtual medium. The center aims to provide detailed counseling and treatment to patients about the harmful effects of tobacco consumption and ways to quit.

The Nodal Officer of the center, Dr. Bhagaraj Chaudhary, explained that this initiative is a joint effort between the National Medical Council (NMC) and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Specialists from the departments of Community Medicine, Mental Health, and Respiratory Medicine will be available at the center to offer counseling and cessation support. The services will be provided free of charge, adhering to the guidelines of the National Tobacco Control Program and the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control.

During the virtual inauguration, prominent attendees included Dr. Sangeeta Gupta, Principal of Geetanjali Medical College; Dr. Harpreet Singh, Medical Superintendent of Geetanjali Hospital; COO Rishi Kapoor; Dr. Gaurav Chhabra, Head of the Respiratory Department; Dr. Jitendra Jeengar, Head of the Mental Health Department; and Dr. Mukul Dixit, Head of the Community Medicine Department.
