Over 1400 Students Benefit from Hindustan Zinc's Shiksha Sambal Program This Yea

Udaipur,  Unlike typical summer vacations filled with travel and play, more than 300 students have chosen to stay away from home for a month, engaging in 24-hour disciplined activities including study, sports, and personality development. The smiles and confidence on the faces of children from Pantnagar Rudrapur, Jawar, Chittorgarh, Agucha, Dariba, Debari, and Kayad attending this camp are testament to their interest in studies and the supportive guidance from their mentors, creating a home-like environment away from home, laying a valuable foundation for their future.

Under the Shiksha Sambal program by Hindustan Zinc, over 1400 students from government schools in seven districts of Rajasthan, including Udaipur, Salumber, Rajsamand, Chittorgarh, Bhilwara, Shahpura, and Ajmer, are enthusiastically participating in summer training camps. These camps focus on subjects like Science, Mathematics, and English, along with physical, intellectual, and cultural activities to ensure holistic development.

The formal inauguration of the summer training camp was held at Vidya Bhawan Society’s Senior Secondary School in Udaipur, with the camp running from May 22 to June 18. Over 300 students from 8th, 10th, and 12th grades are participating for guidance. Similar camps organized in Jawar, Dariba, Debari, Chittorgarh, Agucha, and Kayad are benefiting more than 1100 students.

The success of these residential camps, which started as an experimental initiative eight years ago, is evident from the increasing number of participants. The program and camps are unique in their approach to improving educational outcomes and teaching methods.

These camps are an educational experiment in collaboration with Hindustan Zinc, aiming to make education relevant and highly beneficial for the students. Hindustan Zinc has consistently supported the comprehensive development of rural children, benefiting them for 15 years through the Shiksha Sambal program. These summer training camps emphasize not just education but also skill development, behavior, and extracurricular activities like sports and cultural programs to foster personal and educational improvement among students.

Under the Shiksha Sambal program, Hindustan Zinc provides education in Science, Mathematics, and English to students from 10th to 12th grades in government schools with vacant positions, taught by subject teachers. In this residential training camp, students entering 8th, 10th, and 12th grades this year are taught by expert teachers, helping them learn these subjects in engaging ways.

The inauguration at Vidya Bhawan Society’s Senior Secondary School saw the presence of Hindustan Zinc’s Head of CSR, Anupam Nidhi, CEO of Vidya Bhawan Society Hansraj Choudhary, Dr. Anurag Priyadarshi, Manisha Joshi, and other dignitaries.
