Udaipur, The ongoing struggle of Mohanlal Sukhadia University’s Contract and SFS employees found voice before former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today. A delegation of the association, led by its President Narayan Lal Salvi, called upon Gehlot at the Circuit House during his Udaipur stay and presented a memorandum listing the long-pending five-point demands of the employees.

Salvi stated that despite repeated approaches, the charter of demands has not been addressed and employees continue to serve under uncertainty. Their current work order is valid only until September 30, 2025, leaving hundreds of staff anxious about their future.

During this meeting, employees Mrs. Kiran Tanwar and Mrs. Baby Gameti came forward to narrate the ordeal they faced. They alleged persistent harassment and injustice at the hands of Vice Chancellor Prof. Sunita Mishra, pointing to what they described as inhuman treatment and policy violations in the university’s administration. Their emotional testimony drew serious attention from the former Chief Minister.

Gehlot listened to the grievances with patience and assured the delegation that justice would prevail. He promised that the concerns of the employees would be taken seriously and appropriate steps would be ensured to safeguard their rights. His empathetic approach brought relief to the members of the association who have been battling administrative high-handedness for over two years.

In a gesture of humility, when the association sought to honor him with a turban and shawl, Gehlot declined the felicitation, remarking that the true honor belonged to the employees’ union that had been steadfastly fighting against inhuman practices and arbitrary decisions of the university administration. Displaying statesmanship, he redirected the honor towards President Narayan Lal Salvi, who was presented with the turban and shawl, symbolizing recognition of the collective struggle of the employees.

The incident underscored both the deep unrest among university employees and the continuing relevance of their fight for justice. With September 30 approaching, the delegation hoped Gehlot’s assurance would translate into timely relief and fair resolution of their demands.
