Udaipur, The 70th Meera Festival will be celebrated in Udaipur on October 6 and 7 with great enthusiasm. Preparations are in full swing for the classical competitions and performances scheduled under the event. Participants are rigorously practicing for various classical contests, while the highlight of the festival will be the Meera Dance Drama.

Luv Verma, President and Convener of the Meera Mahotsav and Meera Prakash Verma Foundation, informed that the festival will be held at Prakash Verma Auditorium, Meera Kala Mandir, Sector-11, with the theme “Krishna Ki Virahini Meera” this year. The event’s framework has been prepared under the guidance of Foundation Patron Dr. Pradeep Kumawat along with the organizing committee comprising Pradeep Verma, Narayan Gandharv, Yatharth Verma, Ranveer Singh Ranawat, Vivek Bhatnagar, Kush Verma, Lajja Verma, Manmohan Bhatnagar, Prafull Verma, Kapil Paliwal, Vijay Dhadha, Chinmay Dixit, Kamal Verma, Prasanna Datia, Mukesh Gurjar, Akheraj Rebari, Bherulal Gayri, Himanshu Sharma, Anil Pitliya, Preeti Datia, Prafull Verma, Naveen Rao, Shubham Jain, and Jayesh Pawar.

The festival will begin on October 6 at 9 a.m. and conclude on October 7 in the evening session. During the event, group performances by schools and universities will also be showcased. Around 15–20 schools, including Witty International School, Scholar Arena, Indo American School, and Adinath Public School, will participate. These performances will be featured in the evening cultural sessions, and participants are currently practicing diligently for their stage presentations.

The main attraction, Meera Dance Drama, will be performed by Chandrakala Choudhary, Srishti Pandey, and Anita Rajpurohit. Renowned city artists including Vijay Dhadha, Narayan Gandharv, Urmila, Komal Barot, Sadashiv Gautam, Saurabh Delhvi, Renu Delhvi, Veena Dangi, Manisha Negi, Marisha Dixit, Pramod Parihar, Gajendra Damami, Heeransh Verma, Bhavyan Khokhawat, and Rashi Mathur will also perform their art. Famous bhajan singer Devendra Hiran will present devotional songs dedicated to Meera.

During the festival, the Prakash Verma Kala Samman will be conferred upon distinguished contributors to the art world — Mohan Pawar, Shakuntala Panwar, Om Kumawat, Meethalal Verma, Late Manik Arya, and Vijaylaxmi Dave.
