Udaipur: The 12th Inter-Divisional Civil Services Sports Tournament commenced with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship on Thursday at the Maharana Pratap Khel Gaon in the lake city of Udaipur. The event was formally inaugurated by District Collector Namit Mehta, who hoisted the flag and administered the oath to the players to participate with discipline and true sportsmanship.

The opening ceremony was held at the cricket stadium of Maharana Pratap Khel Gaon and was attended by several dignitaries including Navneet Kumar (Commissioner, Colonization), C. R. Devasi (Additional Divisional Commissioner), Dipendra Singh Rathore (Additional District Magistrate), Giteshshri Malviya (Additional Commissioner, Devasthan Department), social workers Gajpal Singh, Chandragupt Singh Chauhan, Pradeep Ravani, and Jaya Meena, along with several officials and distinguished guests.

At the beginning of the program, District Collector Namit Mehta hoisted the flag and declared the tournament open. He also administered the oath to the participants and interacted with the team managers from various divisions, extending his best wishes for the games. The guests encouraged the players and described the tournament as a platform for promoting sports talent and strengthening coordination among civil servants.

District Sports Officer Dr. Mahesh Paliwal, Secretariat Sports In-charge Malti Choudhary, and Sports In-charge from the District Collector’s Office Surendra Singh Chundawat welcomed the guests.

In his welcome address, Dr. Mahesh Paliwal provided details about the tournament. He informed that eight teams are participating in the event, including teams from all seven divisions of Rajasthan and a team from the Jaipur headquarters. More than 800 players are competing in the tournament.

The competition includes various sports such as table tennis, cricket, volleyball, basketball, tennis, badminton, and kabaddi. The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dipendra Singh Rathore, Additional District Magistrate (Administration).
