UDAIPUR — On the sacred occasion of Raksha Bandhan, a district-level celebration dedicated to honoring women’s empowerment was held on Saturday at the Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium (Municipal Corporation, Udaipur). The event ran in tandem with the state-level program presided over by Chief Minister Shri Bhajan Lal Sharma, which was broadcast live to the venue. Financial Gifts and Scheme Beneficiary Transfers During the live address, Chief Minister Sharma launched a Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) initiative to honor Anganwadi workers, helpers, and Sathins across Rajasthan: Raksha Bandhan Gifts: ₹1,100 as a festival gift alongside ₹1,000 for a saree transferred directly to each beneficiary. In Udaipur district alone, 2,394 Anganwadi workers, 2,394 helpers, and 495 Sathins received these benefits. Operational Funds: ₹16.77 crore released statewide for Anganwadi workers' Community-Based Events (CBE) and mobile data plans. Flagship Women & Child Schemes: Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana: ₹23.43 crore transferred to 40,538 beneficiaries. Mukhyamantri Matritva Poshan Yojana: ₹6.36 crore transferred to 20,670 beneficiaries. Lado Protsahan Yojana: ₹14.75 crore transferred to 50,000 beneficiaries. Leadership Commends Grassroots Women Workforce Addressing the gathering as Chief Guest, Rajya Sabha MP Shri Chunnilal Garasia emphasized that women form the bedrock of family, social, and national progress: "Anganwadi workers, helpers, and Sathins serve as the crucial link bringing welfare schemes to every doorstep. Raksha Bandhan symbolizes trust and protection, and this honor reflects the government's commitment to women's self-reliance, dignity, and empowerment under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma." The program was attended by Chief Executive Officer of Zila Parishad Shri Virmaram as Guest of Honor. Deputy Director of Women and Child Development Shri Nandlal Meghwal and Deputy Director of Women Empowerment Shri Sanjay Joshi welcomed the guests and coordinated the proceedings. Beneficiary women expressed their gratitude to the state leadership for the timely festive support and recognition.
