Recognition for her sustained efforts in cleanliness, heritage conservation and community service

Udaipur, September 20: From neglected temples to traditional stepwells, Dr. Sweety Chhabra has been working to restore cleanliness and dignity to some of the region’s important religious and heritage spaces. In recognition of her sustained contribution to cleanliness drives, conservation and social service, she has been honoured with the Big Impact Award-2026.

Dr. Chhabra, mentor of the Rotary Club of Udaipur Drishti, received the honour on September 19, 2026, for her contribution to community welfare and social initiatives.

Over the years, Dr. Chhabra has helped take cleanliness campaigns across Udaipur and surrounding areas to a wider scale. Through these efforts, approximately 1,500 temples and stepwells have been cleaned, helping bring attention not only to sanitation but also to the preservation of traditional and historic water structures.

Cleanliness with a Heritage Mission

Her initiatives have connected the idea of cleanliness with the protection of cultural and community heritage. Many temples and stepwells are closely linked with the history and traditions of local communities, and their upkeep can play an important role in preserving these spaces for future generations.

Dr. Chhabra has been associated with social service and cleanliness initiatives for several years. As a mentor of the Rotary Club of Udaipur Drishti, she continues to guide and support various community-service activities.

Her consistent efforts have created a model in which cleanliness drives extend beyond routine sanitation to include community participation, heritage awareness and conservation of traditional spaces.

The award recognises these sustained efforts and her contribution towards creating visible social impact through grassroots initiatives.
