Udaipur: The recitation of the Shri Kalpasutra commenced on the third day of the Paryushan Mahaparva at Vasupujya Temple, Dadabari, Udaipur. Before the recitation, Hemant-Hemlata Lodha and their family had the honour of ceremonially offering the Kalpasutra to Sadhvi Dr. Vidyutprabha Shri Ji in her revered presence.

The occasion reflected deep devotion and reverence for the Kalpasutra, a sacred Jain text associated with the life and teachings of Lord Mahavira and the rich spiritual tradition of Jainism.

Addressing a large religious gathering of devotees, Sadhvi Vidyutprabha Shri Ji said that the Kalpasutra holds a highly significant place in Jain religious tradition. She described Paryushan as a great festival of self-purification and spiritual welfare, providing an opportunity to overcome shortcomings in life and cleanse the mind of negative tendencies.

She said Paryushan has the profound potential to purify the soul, provided its teachings are embraced with the right spirit and devotion.

Highlighting the importance of forgiveness, one of the five principal observances of Paryushan, Sadhvi Ji said that when the spirit of forgiveness becomes an integral part of one’s life, it can transform an individual’s personality and outlook. She reminded devotees that the body is temporary, while the soul is the true essence of existence, and therefore one should make sincere efforts during life to overcome inner passions and negative emotions.

Through an episode from the life of Gautam Swami, Sadhvi Ji conveyed the values of simplicity, surrender and devotion towards the Guru. She explained that Gautam Swami was older than Lord Mahavira, yet his association with Mahavira helped calm his inner passions and foster humility and complete surrender.

Referring to the episode of Anand Shravak attaining Avadhi Jnana, she said that the spiritual progress and development of a disciple is also a matter of pride and fulfilment for the Guru.

Sadhvi Vidyutprabha Shri Ji emphasised that overcoming inner passions requires continuous effort. Just as a stone does not break with a single blow, spiritual impurities and inner weaknesses are gradually overcome through sustained practice and spiritual discipline. Even if a stone breaks with the hundredth blow, the importance of the first ninety-nine blows does not diminish. Similarly, she urged devotees to remain spiritually awakened and continue taking steps towards self-realisation and spiritual welfare throughout the remainder of their lives.

On the occasion, Sadhvi Pragyanjana Shri Ji, Sadhvi Namanruchi Shri Ji, Sadhvi Yogaruchi Shri Ji and Sadhvi Tanmayruchi Shri Ji presented devotional songs, adding a spiritual and devotional atmosphere to the gathering.
