Udaipur,The Maharana Bhupal College Alumni Association celebrated a delightful Diwali Sneh Milan event at the college's Vivekananda Auditorium. In his presidential address, former Vice-Chancellor Dr. I.V. Trivedi expressed his joy in welcoming his B.Com classmate, CA Mahendra Jain, as a new member of the council after fifty years, sparking fond memories of their college days.
Media In-Charge Professor Vimal Sharma shared that the program commenced with welcoming remarks from General Secretary Shantilal Bhandari. Following this, Prakash Tated presented the minutes of the last meeting for approval.
During the ceremony, members born in October, including Ravindra Bhatnagar, along with new members Mahendra Jain and Mrs. Pushpa Jain, were honored with tilak and garlands. Mahendra Jain shared that after completing his B.Com in 1975, he became a Chartered Accountant and moved to Indore. He recently shifted back to Udaipur six months ago and eagerly joined the alumni council. Subhash Nagla, who graduated in 1975, joined university service and retired as a Section Officer. He moved abroad shortly after becoming a member but returned just last week. Mrs. Pushpa Jain, who earned her Master's in Economics in 1974 and later a B.Ed., is actively involved in social institutions after retiring from government service.
Cultural performances included SR Tiwari narrating the poignant tale of Bhishma from the Mahabharata, while Mrs. Sita Sharma sang the devotional song "Aisi Lagi Lagan Meera Ho Gayi Magan." Ravindra Bhatnagar, Sanjeev Bhardwaj, Indra Mal Patwa, Chandan Singh Chhacheer, B.L. Chawat, Dr. Naresh Sharma, and Dr. Vimal Sharma presented popular film songs. Mrs. Renu Bhandari narrated the story of clay lamps, and Prakash Tated recited poetic verses, while Professor Mahip Bhatnagar's jokes kept everyone amused.
General Secretary Shantilal Bhandari encouraged members to visit the elderly members residing nearby to strengthen their bond with the association. The proposal for creating a new packet diary was accepted, and Dr. Indravardhan Trivedi offered to oversee its publication. There was also agreement to organize a picnic next month.
K.S. Nalvaya expressed gratitude, and after the national anthem, everyone enjoyed a warm Sneh Bhoj together.
