By K.D. Abbasi

Kota: In one of the most significant crackdowns led by Kota Rural Superintendent of Police Sujit Shankar, the district police and local administration jointly demolished two houses allegedly being used for immoral and illegal activities in Itawa town. The properties, estimated to be worth more than ₹1 crore, were brought down using bulldozers, sending a strong message against organized crime and illegal operations.

According to SP Sujit Shankar, a recent raid conducted by the District Special Branch and Itawa Police at two houses located on Khatoli Road resulted in the arrest of five women and four men allegedly involved in immoral activities. During the investigation, authorities found that both structures had been constructed illegally and were allegedly built using proceeds generated through unlawful activities.

Following the issuance of notices by the Itawa Municipal Council and the district administration, the properties were demolished on Thursday in accordance with legal procedures. Police officials stated that the action was aimed at curbing criminal activities and targeting assets linked to illegal operations.

SP Shankar said that the Kota Rural Police are continuously identifying active criminals, properties acquired through criminal proceeds, and buildings used for unlawful activities under the ongoing “Operation Criminal Dusting” campaign. As part of this initiative, the houses belonging to Shabnam, wife of Firoz, and Hanisa Bano, wife of Sarfaraz, were demolished.

The demolition drive was carried out in the presence of Itawa Sub-Divisional Magistrate Hemant Ghanghor, Circle Officer Om Prakash Sarawag, Municipal Executive Officer Raju Lal Meena, Station House Officer Ajit Singh, along with a large contingent of police and administrative officials.

The joint action by the police and administration has been widely welcomed by local residents, who expressed appreciation for the authorities’ firm stance against crime and illegal activities in the region.
