On the death anniversary of renowned freedom fighters and former Pradesh Congress Committee President Manikya Lal Verma and eminent freedom fighter Parsharam Trivedi, tribute programs were solemnly organized on Saturday to honor their legacy of sacrifice and service to the nation.

At the memorial site in Ashok Nagar, family members, representatives of various social organizations, Congress workers, and citizens from all walks of life gathered to pay floral tributes to the two stalwarts. The gathering fondly remembered their invaluable contribution to India’s freedom struggle and their lifelong dedication to social upliftment, reaffirming their resolve to follow the ideals and values upheld by these great leaders.
Prominent attendees included Pankaj Kumar Sharma, Jagdish Raj Shrimali, Chandrakanta Trivedi, Akshita Trivedi, Sandhya Trivedi, Hemant Trivedi, Vineet Bhatnagar, Pramila Uppal, Subhash Chittoda, Govind Saxena, Kripashankar Mishra, Sajjad Khan, Sanjay Mandwani, along with school children and several distinguished citizens.
Later, a tribute meeting and seminar was organized at the Congress Media Centre, Rakshabandhan, located in Dhanmandi, under the leadership of Pankaj Kumar Sharma, General Secretary and Spokesperson of the Pradesh Congress Committee. Floral tributes were offered to the portraits of both freedom fighters.
Addressing the gathering, Sharma said that “the lives of Manikya Lal Verma and Parsharam Trivedi are shining examples of sacrifice, perseverance, and devotion to the nation. They dedicated their entire lives to the freedom movement and played a significant role in securing India’s independence.”
He emphasized that the present generation must draw inspiration from their ideals and work collectively to protect democracy, the Constitution, and social justice. Sharma added that the Congress Party has always followed the principles laid down by freedom fighters and will continue to strengthen unity, integrity, and brotherhood in the country.
The program was attended by Subhash Chittoda, Govind Saxena, Kripashankar Mishra, Naresh Sahu, Sajjad Khan, Sanjay Mandwani, Lata Meena, Chitru Devasi, Jamna Giri, Narendra Sarraf, Om Prakash Agal, and many other Congress members and respected citizens.
