Udaipur: In a meaningful step toward promoting preventive healthcare, Upbhokta Suraksha Sangathan and Inner Wheel Club Udaipur jointly organized a special awareness camp at Maa Draupadi Devi Anand Old Age Home, Hiran Magri Sector-14. The camp focused on spreading awareness about acupressure, cancer, and heart-related diseases. The program was held from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM and witnessed participation from over 100 attendees.
The event began with a traditional welcome ceremony where dignitaries including Dr. Alpana Bohra, cancer specialist Dr. Sachin Jain, cardiologist Dr. Puneet, and Ashok Kadecha were honored with uparna and pagdi. The welcome was led by Inner Wheel Club Udaipur President Mrs. Chandrakala Kothari, Secretary Babita Jain, member Yashwant Bhansali, and Tara Sansthan Program Coordinator Aarti Chitoda.
Dr. Alpana Bohra, Chairperson of the Women’s Wing – Upbhokta Suraksha Sangathan (District Udaipur) and former Senior Officer at Rolta India Limited, Mumbai, was the keynote speaker. She provided comprehensive insights into the benefits and techniques of acupressure. She explained that regular acupressure practice can help relieve conditions such as migraine, headaches, sinus issues, cervical pain, vertigo, varicose veins, frozen shoulder, eye and nasal problems, diabetes, blood pressure, and heel pain.
She emphasized the importance of daily walking, practicing pranayama, walking barefoot on grass, and maintaining a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, nuts, and proteins. According to her, regular acupressure and yoga can enhance concentration, mental balance, energy levels, and self-confidence. She also guided senior citizens on preventive care methods and demonstrated basic acupressure techniques that can be practiced without medication.
The event was further graced by the presence of Dr. Rajshree Gandhi and Parvati Jha, adding dignity to the occasion. Participants appreciated the initiative and pledged to adopt healthy lifestyle practices in their daily lives.
Ashok Ji played an important role in the successful organization of the camp. At the conclusion of the program, the ashram management conducted a tour of the premises for the guests and participants.
The one-day awareness camp concluded successfully, highlighting the importance of preventive healthcare and encouraging the community to stay informed, proactive, and health-conscious. Organizers assured that similar programs will continue in the future to promote widespread health awareness across all sections of society.
