###Rotary Club of Udaipur installs new office-bearers, announces $20,000 matching grant for community projects

UDAIPUR,  Rotary Club of Udaipur installed its office-bearers for the 2026-27 term during its 69th installation ceremony held at Rotary Bajaj Bhawan, where club leaders announced plans to secure a $20,000 matching grant from The Rotary Foundation for permanent community service projects.

Justice G.R. Moolchandani, Chairman of the Human Rights Commission, attended the event as the chief guest, while Rotary District Governor Arun Bagadia was the guest of honor. Past District Governor Nirmal Singhvi served as the installing officer.

Singhvi administered the oath of office to Shrichand Khaturia, who assumed charge as the club's 69th president. Members of the newly elected executive committee, including President-elect Vivek Vyas and President-nominee Ajay Agrawal, were also sworn in.

Addressing the gathering, Justice Moolchandani said Rotary has earned global recognition for its commitment to selfless service through initiatives in healthcare, blood donation, environmental conservation, water conservation, child welfare and community development. He said the organization's objective is to extend meaningful assistance to the most vulnerable sections of society.

District Governor Bagadia said contributions made to The Rotary Foundation return to communities in the form of matching grants for humanitarian projects. He said Rotary would work with the Rajasthan government during the year on cervical cancer vaccination for girls and welfare initiatives for women prisoners. He also inducted the club's new member, Kavisha Manwani.

In his inaugural address, Khaturia said the club would seek a $20,000 matching grant from The Rotary Foundation to implement sustainable community service projects. He said cervical cancer vaccination for girls would be among the club's top priorities during the year.

Assistant District Governor Gajendra Jodhawat said Rotary would continue to expand its service initiatives in line with the organization's international theme, adding that the organization serves as a source of hope and positive change in communities.

During the ceremony, the club also released its annual bulletin. As part of its community outreach, Rotary Club of Udaipur donated a computer set to Government Senior Secondary School, Goyan, and furniture along with notebooks for students at Government Senior Secondary School, Boojhra.

The program opened with a welcome address by Khaturia, while Sheila Talesara and Darshana Singhvi presented an invocation. Club members and guests reaffirmed their commitment to expanding Rotary's service initiatives in the coming year.
