Guru Purnima celebrates gratitude and devotion at Vasupujya Temple

UDAIPUR, Guru Purnima was observed with devotion and spiritual fervor at Vasupujya Temple, Dadabari, where Jain nuns emphasized gratitude, humility and the lifelong guidance of a guru during a special religious discourse.

Addressing the gathering, Sadhvi Vidyutprabha Shri Ji, along with the group of six nuns, said devotees should always remain grateful to the enlightened spiritual leaders and gurus of the Jain tradition. She said gratitude is the foundation of values and righteous conduct, and without it, true character cannot develop.

She urged devotees to remember with reverence those who have imparted knowledge, guidance and wisdom. Guru Purnima, she said, is not merely a festival but an opportunity to express devotion, gratitude and dedication to one's guru.

Explaining the spirit of selfless service, Sadhvi Vidyutprabha Shri Ji said people can learn from a tree, which endures the heat while providing shade and comfort to others. She said true humanity lies in willingly bearing hardships oneself while ensuring that others do not suffer because of one's actions. She also described her mother as her first guru, crediting her with introducing her to the world and instilling the values needed to lead a meaningful life.

Speaking on the occasion, Sadhvi Namanruchi Shri Ji said that without a guru it is difficult to understand the path of धर्म (dharma) and attain spiritual liberation. She described the guru as equal to the divine, capable of shaping even ordinary lives through values and discipline.

Sadhvi Yogruchi Shri Ji said the guru is the central guiding force in every disciple's life and encouraged devotees to seek forgiveness for their mistakes, noting that gurus respond with compassion and kindness.

Sadhvi Tanmayruchi Shri Ji said that in Indian spiritual thought, the guru is accorded the highest place. While teachers provide education, she said, a guru shapes an individual's entire life and character.

Conducting the program, Prakash Nagauri said humility, dedication, devotion and perseverance are the keys to spiritual accomplishment. He added that the blessings of a guru guide the soul toward the path of liberation.

The program concluded with a devotional invocation presented by Sadhvi Pragyanjana Shri Ji, Sadhvi Namanruchi Shri Ji, Sadhvi Yogruchi Shri Ji and Sadhvi Tanmayruchi Shri Ji.
