#### Mewar legacy, philanthropy take center stage at Mumbai dialogue

MUMBAI/UDAIPUR,Heritage conservation, responsible stewardship and the future of philanthropy were the focus of a special dialogue titled "The Legacy of Mewar: Heritage Conservation, Tradition, Leadership and Philanthropy," bringing together leaders from the corporate, social and philanthropic sectors.

The event opened with a networking session followed by a welcome address by The Chambers, Mumbai, introducing the theme of the program. Participants were then introduced to Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar, the 77th Shri Ekling Diwan of the House of Mewar, and Soumya Rajan, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Waterfield Advisors.

Dr. Mayank Gupta, Chief Executive Officer of the Maharana Mewar Charitable Foundation, said the program featured a documentary highlighting the more than 1,500-year-old legacy of the Mewar dynasty, Udaipur's cultural heritage and the foundation's ongoing conservation initiatives.

The discussion, moderated by Rajan, explored the preservation of Mewar's historical legacy, protection of cultural identity, sustainable tourism, heritage management, philanthropy, corporate social responsibility and the role of private capital in safeguarding India's cultural assets.

During the conversation, Dr. Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar said heritage is not the property of any individual but an invaluable asset belonging to society. He stressed that protecting and enriching this shared legacy is a collective responsibility of the present generation.

He also emphasized that heritage conservation extends beyond preserving monuments, encompassing the protection of cultural values, traditions and collective community memories for future generations.

The interactive question-and-answer session covered topics related to heritage conservation, leadership and social responsibility, with participation from representatives of leading corporate, philanthropic and development organizations.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks emphasizing that preserving India's rich cultural heritage requires collaborative efforts by government agencies, the private sector, philanthropic institutions and society. A networking session followed, allowing participants to exchange ideas with the speakers on the future of heritage conservation and philanthropy.
