A Sacred Journey of Faith Begins: Grand Sammed Shikhar Mahayatra Flagged Off from Udaipur

Udaipur | Under the aegis of Mahavir Navyuvak Mandal, Sunderwas, a grand and spiritually uplifting Sammed Shikhar Mahayatra—the pilgrimage to Jainism’s most revered holy site—was ceremoniously flagged off from Udaipur City Railway Station today.

A total of 250 pilgrims embarked on this sacred journey, including 155 devotees from Udaipur and others joining from Mumbai, united by faith and devotion. The 11-day pilgrimage will not only cover Sammed Shikhar Ji, the supreme Jain pilgrimage site, but will also include darshan of 11 prominent places of the Sanatan tradition, symbolizing the Jain community’s deep-rooted reverence for India’s broader spiritual heritage.

The send-off ceremony witnessed the gracious presence of office bearers from various social, religious and institutional organizations, along with eminent citizens of Udaipur. All extended heartfelt wishes and encouragement to the pilgrims, creating an atmosphere filled with devotion and positivity.

The entire pilgrimage is being efficiently organized under the able leadership of Shri Bhupesh Khamesra, Secretary of Mahavir Navyuvak Mandal, who meticulously planned and guided the complete journey framework.

Sharing details, Mandal President Shri Praveen Nahar said that pilgrims have joined not only from Sunderwas and Udaipur but also from nearby regions and outside Rajasthan, making this yatra a remarkable example of collective devotion. He also highlighted a noble initiative of the Mandal—providing free travel facilities to economically and physically underprivileged religious brethren. Several donors contributed through anonymous donations, and the identities of beneficiaries were respectfully kept confidential to preserve their dignity and self-respect.

Addressing the pilgrims, Shri Mahavir Vaya of the Mandal calmly and clearly explained the complete 11-day itinerary, appealing to everyone to maintain discipline, cooperation and harmony throughout the journey.

In a deeply emotional and devotional moment, all pilgrims were ceremoniously sent off from the railway station with caps, garlands, tilak and traditional honors, amid chants and prayers.

The smooth execution of the departure arrangements saw commendable contributions from Vinay Jain, Jitendra Jain, Paras Khurdiya, Kuldeep Jain, Vivek Mehta, Ashutosh Dhing, Sajan Mandot, and many other dedicated volunteers.

The Sammed Shikhar Mahayatra stands as a shining example of faith, service, inclusivity and spiritual unity, reinforcing timeless values through collective devotion.
